Theme 1 - Summer

Teaching tips
-
In the beginning of the year make several name tags for each child. Choose a simple picture or symbol for each child too that you draw or paste down next to their name. By attaching these labels with velcro, you will be able to move them around during the year as you need to.

Teaching tips

Keep a few examples of each learner’s work in a folder together with the child’s assessments to show parents at your parent and teacher meeting. Teaching tips

Colouring in is a pre-writing activity that prepares the child for writing. Always encourage colouring in within the lines to improve pencil control. Make sure the children have an opportunity to both colour in and draw freely every day.
-
When walking on a line or a balance beam the child should walk heel to toe, keeping their feet centred on the line or beam.
